Wool felt animal brooch made with clear file cutouts Japanese Craft Book

¥2,100

Release date: ‎2018/9/1
Language ‏ : ‎ Japanese
Book: ‎ 80 pages

The base of the animals (skeleton, flesh) is made using a "stencil" method, where a pattern is copied onto a clear file, cut out, and wool is skewered on. The motifs are made to recreate happy moments from everyday life that every pet owner has seen. For example, a Shiba Inu with an excited smile before going out is actually going to the vet, and on the way back, it is wearing an Elizabethan collar and is looking depressed. There are plenty of new ideas, such as a split type that can be separated into a head and a body!

Realistic animal motif books made with wool are very popular. However, it is difficult to faithfully reproduce three-dimensional works just by looking at the book, and as a result, it is not uncommon to end up just looking at it as a photo book.
This book uses a "stencil" method to copy a pattern onto a clear file, cut out the pattern, and skewer wool on the skeleton and flesh (base), which are the key to three-dimensional objects, and is therefore characterized by high reproducibility of recipes.
There are three types of bases, two-tiered and three-tiered, to suit the work, but it's easy to make as you just stab the wool into the shape like you're stacking sponges for a decorated cake.
Nosoko's "Wool Felt Animal Brooches," published in 2015, left a strong impression with its expressionless and cool animals. This time, we focused on creating a happy scene from everyday life that every pet owner has seen. For example, a Shiba Inu with an excited smile before going out is actually going to the vet, and on the way back, he is wearing an Elizabethan collar and looks depressed. There are plenty of works that will make pet owners smile and say, "That's so true!"
There are also unique split-type brooches that are separated into a head and a body.
We have a selection of works that will warm your heart even if you've never been good at neck-only types.
Each work has a detailed photo of the steps, so it's easy to understand.
