The long-awaited ``Tokyo Godfathers'' is the third installment of our ``Satoshi Kon Storyboard Collection'', which continued from 2017's ``Paprika'' to this spring's ``Millennium Actress.''

Three homeless people living in a corner of Shinjuku, Tokyo, who have strayed from the norm - former bicycle racer Gin-chan, former drag queen Hana-chan, and runaway girl Miyuki, meet the parents of a baby they found in a garbage dump. It's a masterpiece that, in a sense, doesn't have the feel of an animation, as it's reminiscent of American comedy films from around the 1940s, a rakugo story, and a traditional Christmas story.
