Born in Tokyo in 1941. As the fourth generation of the long-established washi paper company Yushima no Kobayashi, he is a master of paper dyeing techniques.
He is working hard to spread and pass down washi culture through exhibits such as origami and lectures.
He is the director of Ochanomizu Origami Kaikan, the director of the NPO International Origami Association, and the All Japan Paper Doll Association.
In addition to serving as chairman, he also holds traveling exhibitions of Japanese paper crafts around the world.
He also handles many overseas events.
