Stitches - Japanese Craft Book

¥5,000

Release date: ‎ 2024/9/2
Language ‏ : ‎ Japanese
Book: ‎ 92 pages

This is the Japanese version of "Stitches," a knitting pattern collection published in English by Isager in 2019. Inspired by the fact that "one stitch" is a "stitch" whether it's knitting or embroidery, popular Danish knitwear designer Helga Isager designed this book with the theme of fusing knitwear and embroidery. It includes a total of 10 items: 2 cardigans, 5 sweaters, 1 dress, 1 hat, and 1 stole.

"Fusion of knitwear and embroidery" means embroidering after knitting, but the work can be completed without embroidery. Therefore, it is suggested that you first enjoy the knitted pieces as they are, and then add embroidery after a while to arrange them and enjoy them as new designs. In other words, you can enjoy making and using one piece twice as much.

And what I found casually useful and impressed was that all 10 pieces of swatch photos are included in full size. You can check the gauge by simply overlaying the swatch on the photo, which looks like it will make adjusting the gauge (which can be boring) more fun.

The patterns are text patterns, just like the original, but we have asked Nishimura Tomoko, a leading expert in English pattern translators, to translate them and adjust them to be as easy as possible for Japanese knitters to understand.

In addition, to make knitting as easy as possible for those who are unfamiliar with text patterns, we have also provided an "Increase/Decrease Stitch Checksheet" which can be downloaded from the Kazeito Books store.

This is a book that we hope you will enjoy as a companion for your autumn and winter knitting plans.
