200 hand-woven patterns that can be made on a small loom - Japanese Craft Book

¥5,100

Release date: ‎ 2025/3/11
Language ‏ : ‎ Japanese
Book: ‎ 240 pages

Introducing 200 hand-woven patterns that can be made with a small loom

Even with small tabletop looms such as "mini weaving" and "Sakiori," you can weave many patterns. This book features 200 coaster-sized (approximately 13 cm square) motifs, as well as many variations in different colors and threads. Choose a pattern you like or want to try from samples made only with extra-thick, medium-thick, and medium-thin cotton threads, and start by weaving it in coaster size.

Coaster-sized weaving is easy, so try it with the thread you have at hand first to check the pattern and size. Of course, you can use coaster-sized as it is, or you can use several motifs by stitching them together. You can also weave the warp threads together to make a larger piece, or incorporate a pattern into part of the piece.

The book also explains how to thread the warp threads for "mini weaving" and "Sakiori," as well as basic weaving methods. It provides detailed explanations with photographs so that even beginners can get started right away, including how to read the weaving diagrams for each motif, how to weave while connecting the warp threads, and how to finish the tassels.

When used in conjunction with the previously published "The Complete Guide to Hand Weaving," this book will further expand the world of hand weaving.
