I do a variety of embroidery, but I had avoided Japanese embroidery.
But after seeing this book, I decided to start.

The reasons are
(1) the beauty of Japanese embroidery
(2) an explanation of the minimum tools necessary to start
(3) a comparison with French embroidery
(4) a good sense of motifs

All of these are packed into this small book, and I became interested in Japanese embroidery, which I had never thought of trying because it was too difficult to get into and I had never wanted to try it as a motif.

I especially liked the way it compares the familiar French embroidery methods and the explanation that "this is what is called ◯◯ stitch in French embroidery."

It also explained how to twist the thread with illustrations, which made me want to give it a try.

I thought this was one of the few books that uses cute motifs to make Japanese embroidery, which is becoming more and more specialized, easy for young people to get familiar with.

It may be rude to say this to a professional, but one of the reasons I bought it was that I was impressed by how good the person is.
